"Out of Hours" is :
before 8:30 am and after 6pm - Monday to Friday. Weekends from 6pm Friday until 8:30 am Monday.
In December 2004, Trafford Primary Care Trust took over the provision of out of hours services. The service is provided by Mastercall which is a long established company run by doctors, originally from Stockport.
They run an out of hours centre in Sale and one at Wythenshawe Hospital. Access to the centres is by appointment only.
On ringing the out of hours number, you may be offered an appointment at an out of hours centre, telephone advice or a home visit if the doctor feels it is
necessary.

Has been introduced by the government at huge expense. It is a service run by trained nurses who respond to health queries by using a computer program. They can advise on many aspects of health and often point you in the right direction of the type of healthcare you may need. It is useful if you need some advice when the surgery is closed but are unsure if you need a doctor.
