blue_calendar_2011 We run an appointments system and will always try our best to see you at a time convenient for you. We would encourage you to sign-up to our internet appointments scheme as once you are registered you can book an appointment on-line day or night.

If you do ring for a non-urgent appointment, you might like to ring during the early afternoon, when it can be (a bit!) quieter on reception.

NOTE: Our telephone system is designed so we can answer three calls at a time. The fourth caller will hear a message asking them to hold. We will then answer as soon as possible. Don't hang up!

URGENT Appointments

If you feel you need to be seen urgently, please indicate this to our reception staff who will ensure you are seen at the earliest possible time. If a particular doctor has been dealing with your particular problem, it is often best if they continue see you.

If you feel that you are too ill to wait to see a particular doctor however, you can ask to see a different doctor or the nurse practititioner. If you are immobile a home visit may be possible.

EMERGENCY Appointments

Please indicate when you ring if you need emergency attention. For example, severe chest pains, severe pain elsewhere, shortness of breath etc. If it appears the best course of action is for you to go to hospital, we will sort it out. If it is not quite that serious we would arrange to see you as an emergency.

Check in at the Surgery

Our reception desk is the furthest from the surgery entrance. The first desk on the left belongs to the Primary Care Trust. Ignore this. The second desk belongs to the practice that we share our building with. Walk past this.

The third check-in desk is ours. There are two windows. The first will usually be occupied by a receptionist. If there is nobody there they can see you arrive from the reception area behind the desk and will come out to you.

If you just wish to book in rather than see the receptionist, the next desk along now contains our new automated check-in. It is a touch screen with simple prompts to follow. We have installed this to save time.

We would like to hear your opinions on the system.
