diabetes
Dr. Cranston and Sister Brayzier run our diabetic clinic every fortnight on Tuesday between 9.00am and 11:30am.
All patients with diabetes can be seen. Please contact reception on 980 3835 for an appointment. We have a dietician who attends our clinic to provide essentiial dietary advice. If you just need to see the dietician that is fine, just let us know.
We operate a computerised recall system so it is likely we will be in touch at some point in the year to ask you to arrange your diabetes appointment. You will sometimes be sent a blood form to have a test before attending.
Both clinicians keep themselves regularly updated and successfully completed the certificate in diabetes care from Warwick University in 2006.
Dr. Cranston entered his project course work into a national competition and was one of three finalists in the diabetes guidelines section. The project was a computer alogorhytm to help diagnose diabetes and is now incorporated into our clinical computer system. Our latest annual update was undertaken at a diabetes course at Old Trafford in July 2009 For more information about diabetes, visit the Diabetes UK website. Local information is available from the Trafford PCT Diabetes website and NHS direct also has useful information.
