We provide a wide range of NHS services to our patients. We also provide private services such as medical examinations & reports, corporate work and travel health. The Royal College website has more information on GP services and fees.
The menu on the right is a guide to the main services we offer but it is not an exhaustive list. Please contact reception if you wish to enquire about a service not listed here.
improving access
As well as our three doctors, we have a nurse practitioner available for consultations. Sister Brayzier has a MSc. from Manchester University and has a wide range of clinical skills. Her role has allowed us to provide you with more clinical appointments and to make access to healthcare at our practice as easy as possilble. To help further with this we also have a health care assistant who is readily available for blood pressure checks, smoking cessation advice etc.
Most of the work of a GP is covered by the NHS and no extra fees are payable. See private work at shay lane for more details and our fee structure.
We use IT extensively. In 2007 Dr. Cranston was a finalist in the diabetes category of a national guidelines competition for writing a computer algorithm to help diagnose diabetes. Some years ago we won a government "beacon site" award for IT use in our chronic disease management programme. We do not currently use the "choose and book" system as we do not feel it is fit for purpose as yet.

Please read about the test in this printable PSA test information leaflet or pick up a leaflet at the surgery.
