Due to a government directive following the COVID-19 pandemic, we are obligated to offer on-line access to our practice.
We have worked hard to make the new system as user friendly as possible and we can now offer significantly enhanced on-line information and consultations using our new Online Service.
As an alternative to ringing the surgery, you can use this resource which may answer your question. If you still wish to consult your GP, fill in the on-line form with your request and we will get back to you, usually the same day. You can still ring the surgery in the usual way if you prefer, but many patients have found the new service more convenient.
We are currently offering telephone triage appointments wherever possible to reduce the spread of Covid-19, which remains stubbornly high, especially in Trafford.
Our phone lines are very busy during peak times and patients are encouraged to access the online services to book/cancel routine GP appointments and request prescriptions.
To register for this service patients will need to bring proof of address and photo ID to the surgery reception and will be given a letter explaining how to access the online services. Please also see the Online Services section of this website.
Patients will be seen by the next available GP. If you wish to see a specific GP, you may have to arrange an appointment further in advance.
Please phone the surgery at 8:30am if you feel you need to see a GP urgently and we will try to offer you a same day appointment. You will be asked to provide brief details of your condition to help us establish the most appropriate appointment for you.
Evening and weekend appointments are available to Trafford patients to see a GP, Nurse or Phlebotomist between 6.30pm and 8pm Monday to Friday and between 9am and 1pm Saturday and Sunday mornings. Appointments can be booked via reception and are hosted at four ‘hubs’:
St John’s Medical Centre, Altrincham WA14 2NW
Firsway Health Centre, Sale M33 4BR
Flixton Road Medical Centre, Urmston M41 5BG
North Trafford Group Practice in Stretford M32 0PA
Patients are requested to telephone before 11am if a visit is required that day. Emergency visits only will be arranged after that time. Please provide as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to house calls. The doctor may ring you for more information. Home visits are only available to house bound patients who are unable to be brought to the practice.
We have an SMS text appointment reminder service to help you remember appointment details.
To cancel appointments please either respond to your text message appointment reminder, cancel online or ring the surgery so another patient can benefit from the appointment.
If you wish to have a chaperone present with you at your appointment, please advise the clinician.
